KORN Singer's Horror Film Debut Out Next Halloween
October 27, 2006Launch Radio Networks reports: KORN fans will have to wait until next Halloween to see singer Jonathan Davis in his first major film role as the title character of "Sin-Jyn Smyth", an independent horror film now tentatively scheduled for release in October of 2007. Davis plays a mysterious convict who is being transferred to a new prison and is ultimately revealed to be the devil. While some early positive reviews of the film have surfaced online, Davis told Launch that he hasn't seen the finished movie yet. "It's supposed to be really, really good," he said. "I haven't seen a cut of it yet, but everyone, all the reviews I've read of it so far, said I did a good job, so I'm hoping to see what I did (laughs). I like doing independent film, 'cause it's just like, people get to do what they want and, you know, the director gets to keep his vision, and it's just a cool thing."
"Sin-Jyn Smyth" also stars former wrestler Roddy Piper and porn superstar Jenna Jameson in her first "straight" role.
Davis has previously done one or two smaller cameos in other independent movies.
KORN is currently writing music for its eighth studio album, which the band hopes to release by next spring.
Davis recently revealed that he hopes to embark on his first solo tour in February of 2007, after the band finishes recording its new CD.
